Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has announced that the country is analyzing “the intentions” of Russian troops and preparing “a countermeasure” against their attacks on power plants, which have left much of the territory without power.
“We are analyzing the intentions of the occupiers and we are preparing a countermeasure, an even more powerful countermeasure than now,” the Ukrainian president asserted in his daily message to the country’s population, acknowledging that the main problems occur in the Donetsk regions. , Lugansk, Kharkov, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Crimea.
In this sense, Zelenski has announced that his government is preparing “new solutions” to prevent Russia from “manipulating the internal life of Ukraine”, although for now he has preferred not to go into details.
However, Zelensky recalled that around six million houses in all regions of the country, in addition to kyiv, are disconnected from electricity.
“Energy and utility engineers, all of our services are doing everything they can to stabilize the system and give people more power for longer. And I want to emphasize once again: it is very important that people understand when and for how long their electricity will be cut off,” the Ukrainian president snapped.
“This is the responsibility of both the energy companies themselves and the local authorities. People have a right to know. And to the extent that it is possible now, the predictability of life must be guaranteed (…) There must be justice and clarity,” he added.
