BARCELONA, Nov 9 (.) –
The new first coach of FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernández, has directed his first training session this Tuesday, as a family due to the absence of most of the players due to the ‘international break’, and has made his presentation together with the new coaching staff accompanied from the president, Joan Laporta.
The president visited the Ciutat Esportiva to greet Xavi, his coaching staff and the players, together with sports vice president Rafa Yuste and football director Mateu Alemany –who went to Doha to close their signing–, as well as the director of the area international Jordi Cruyff and the head of the technical secretariat, Ramon Planes.
After the presentation and the first speech, the Blaugrana coach directed the training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, which he knows so well, and, leaving the suit from his presentation behind and wearing the club’s tracksuit, began to roll his project.
The available players of the first team plus Comas, Mika Mármol, Álvaro Sanz, Ez Abde, Jutglà, Aranda and Akhomach, from Sergi Barjuan’s Barça B – after completing their journey as interim first team coach – were the first to be at the Xavi’s orders.
It was a session that served as a first contact with his new players and in which Xavi began to work to prepare for the LaLiga Santander match against RCD Espanyol on Saturday, November 20, in a Catalan derby that will be his debut as a coach.
