The Spanish center Willy Hernángomez caressed the ‘double-double’ in the victory (121-106) of the New Orleans Pelicans over the Denver Nuggets, the fourth consecutive, while Santi Aldama once again left a more than correct game contributing from the bench in the victory (112-122) of the Memphis Grizzlies against the Detroit Pistons.
Willy Hernangómez enjoyed the greatest number of minutes (20) on court this season and responded with his best score -12 points- and 8 rebounds to reach double figures in a new opportunity taken advantage of by the Spaniard. Established in the rotation in that last positive streak of the Pelicans -four consecutive games winning-, the national center contributed again from the bench and in the second half of the game.
The European champion was one more guest at Puerto Rican José Alvarado’s party, who boosted some Pelicans who are already second in the West with his 38 points in 27 minutes on the track. His stellar contribution was key to ‘dry’ a Nikola Jokic who was the best of the Nuggets with 32 points and 16 rebounds.
For his part, Aldama from the Canary Islands once again provided details with a couple of blocks and his highest number of assists (5) of the course. The Grizzlies easily beat the Pistons to place third in the West, with a Spanish player who added another 5 points and 7 rebounds. The best of those from Tennessee and of the game was once again Ja Morant, leaving behind his expulsion from the last game and signing a ‘double-double’ with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists.
