Willy Hernángomez: “It’s a game to enjoy, we don’t have any pressure”

Rudy Fernández: “I’ve told you to enjoy yourself, we don’t know if we’ll get back to a final”

MADRID, Sep. 17 (.) –

The Spanish national team player Willy Hernángomez asked to “enjoy” the final this Sunday (8:30 p.m.) of the Eurobasket against France, since they don’t feel “any pressure” and the work “is already done”.

“We have lived through everything, having bad streaks, coming back against very tough rivals… Tomorrow is a game in which we have to enjoy, we do not have any pressure. The work is already done, but we have one step left”, assured Willy Hernángomez in the preview of the final.

It will be up to him to defend the Frenchman Rudy Gobert, “a very tough player”. “You have to accept those challenges and we’re going for it,” he added, after expressing that the “ambition” that characterizes the squad will come out this Sunday. “We’re going to give it our all,” he insisted.

For his part, captain Rudy Fernández, with three European titles, commented that “every final has something special.” “We come to enjoy it against one of the best teams. The only thing we can do is enjoy it and leave everything to at least leave with our heads held high,” he said.

“There is no need to tell them anything, just enjoy. We don’t know if we will return to a final, many things happen in sport and it is shown that the favorites can puncture. With this group we have to enjoy it,” he settled.
