MADRID, May 3. (Portaltic/EP) –
WhatsApp works in a footer notice in which it will remind users that their conversations within the instant messaging application are protected with end-to-end encryption.
The end to end encryption It is a security mechanism with which only the sender and the receiver can access the information that is exchanged. This method has become popular over time, to prevent unauthorized third parties from accessing the information that is shared, and has been present since 2016 on WhatsApp.
The ‘app’ incorporated this protection first in its text chats and, since then, it has also been deploying it in its voice calls and video calls, in addition to its States and backup copies.
Participants in the Google Play testing program have discovered in the new update 2.22.10.14 of the WhatsApp beta for Android the appearance of a warning that reminds of end-to-end encryption in conversations, according to the specialized media WaBetaInfo.
The notice will appear at the bottom of the open conversations on WhatsApp, on the Chats Page, to make it clear that not even the company itself will be able to access these encrypted messages. In a previous update, the notice was introduced in the call history.
The update is only available on Android. However, the media assures that WhatsApp is already working on implementing it both in the beta of its desktop version and in the ecosystem. iOS.
