Vox has appointed Álvaro Zancajo as campaign director for Macarena Olona for the Andalusian elections on June 19, according to ABC Seville. The journalist was dismissed as news director of Canal Sur, under criticism from workers, unions and associations for manipulation.
According to the aforementioned media, Zancajo is happy to have been appointed to this position and has indicated that working with the Vox candidate in Andalusia is a challenge for him. Journalist has not hidden his preferences for the extreme right formation and has even joined the criticism of the formation of Juanma Moreno for defending a “model of speaking and agreeing with everyone”, alluding to the UGT and CCOO unions.
The ideological bias also transferred it to his profession. When he was director of the Andalusian television news, CCOO journalists on Radio Televisión de Andalucía (RTVA) defended that his way of working was marked by “errors and manipulation”, according to Watch TV.
Something that led to the general director of RTVA, Juande Mellado, to remove Zancajo from the position and place the journalist Carmen Torres. He followed the same steps at RTVE, where he was in charge of captaining Canal 24 Horas. The director of Informative Services of TVE, Begona Joyannounced that the journalist ceased to hold the position.
