The terrorist act in Kosovo was obviously aimed at raising the already heated atmosphere of fear and violence in the entire society, especially in the civil and multinational Vojvodina and its capital, which are recognized as a threat to the so-called national unity, which means clericalism, extremism, authoritarianism and ultra-centralism, said the Vojvodina cultural club “Vasa Stajić”, reports Anadolu.
They pointed out that “according to the old, well-tried recipe, the government is using the tragic events in Kosovo for gruesome campaigns of nationalist rampage in Vojvodina and Novi Sad”.
“With the help of their Vojvodina Gauleiter (Đurić, Vučević, Vulin, Gojkovićeva, Jovanov, Risticevic and others), through various actions – threats to activists, glorification and ‘ordination’ of criminals, support for terrorism – they intimidate citizens of Vojvodina of all nationalities, trying to force them into ‘patriotism’ and turn them into henchmen of a failed grand national project that has suffered numerous defeats in the recent past,” stated the Vojvodina Cultural Club.
They emphasized that “the most recent events are just a continuation of the long-term activity of Serbian nationalism in Vojvodina and Novi Sad, which implies a continuous symbolic war and the occupation of institutions: the capital of Vojvodina was repainted in the colors of the Serbian flag, and in the Matica srpska, the Archives of Vojvodina, the Cultural Center of Novi Sad and many other institutions, including many faculties and study groups – are ruled by extreme right-wingers, who produce new generations of ‘kulturtreger'”.
“For this purpose, the figure of the war criminal Vojislav Šešelj is also grinning in the face of the ‘cultural capital’ of Europe from a large poster in the center of the city. Of course, we should not forget that the bishops in Vojvodina, led by Irineja Bačka, are medieval obscurants who are essentially and in the long term destroying society, supporting and gathering around you the worst in it. We say to the progressive authorities: You can do whatever you want, but not as long as you want. Whatever you do, you will not succeed in killing the civic, multicultural and pro-European being of Novi Sad and Vojvodina.” they added from the Vojvodina Cultural Club.
