Ukrainian authorities have revoked the press credentials of “some” journalists for “ignoring existing bans and warnings” in Kherson. This has been confirmed by the body of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which has justified the decision by alleging that the reporters acted “without the consent of the relevant commanders and the public affairs services of the military units.”
The same institution has pointed out that the journalists carried out their work “even before the stabilization measures were completed.” It has argued that they committed a “serious violation” of the rules established in the Order of the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Therefore, the work permits of the media representatives, who violated the work rules in the combat areas, have been canceled and their press credentials are recognized as invalid.
Ukrainian media indicate that journalists from CNN and SkyNews have been involved in this revocation. Specifically, according to some journalists on Twitter, those affected are the correspondents nic robertson (CNN) and Alex Rossi (SkyNews). However, neither of the two workers has spoken publicly nor their respective media.
The same sources add that the accreditation of the recording equipment of Suspilnea public broadcasting company in Ukraine, and Hromadske, another kyiv-based broadcaster.
