The Ukrainian authorities have estimated this Friday at about 225 the number of children killed since the beginning of the Russian military offensive, triggered on February 24 by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has indicated in a message on its Telegram account that to date the death of 223 children has been confirmed, while 408 have been injured in the framework of hostilities.
“These figures are not final, since work is underway in places of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories,” he stated, before stressing that the province of Donetsk (east) is the one with the largest number of victims, with 139 dead and wounded.
On the other hand, it has detailed that 1,607 educational institutions have suffered material damage due to the attacks, of which a total of 121 have been “completely destroyed”.
