Ukraine figures in about 170 children killed since the start of the war with Russia

The Ukrainian authorities have raised this Friday to about 170 the number of children who have died in the country since the beginning of the Russian invasion, triggered on February 24 by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has stated in a message on its official Telegram account that to date the death of 169 children has been confirmed, while another 306 have been injured in the context of the conflict.

“These figures are not definitive, since there is work underway to determine them in places with active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied territories and in the liberated territories,” the agency stressed.

Likewise, he has reported that the places with the most victims among minors are the capital, kyiv, the Donetsk region, Kharkov, Chernígov and Mikolaiv. On the other hand, he has stated that 928 educational institutions have been damaged by Russian attacks since the start of the offensive, 84 of which have been “totally destroyed.”
