MADRID, 8 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Ukrainian Army has estimated this Friday at “about 19,000” the soldiers killed in combat since the start of the war, which broke out on February 24 after the order given by the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, days after recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Luhansk.

The General Staff of the Army of Ukraine has stated in a message on its account on the social network Facebook that to date 700 battle tanks, 333 artillery systems and 108 self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers have been destroyed.

Likewise, it has underlined that 150 planes, 135 helicopters, 55 anti-aircraft defense systems, 1,361 vehicles, seven boats, 76 fuel tanks and 112 drones have been destroyed. “The data is being updated. The calculations are complicated due to the high intensity of hostilities,” he concluded.

Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov acknowledged Thursday that the Russian Army has suffered a “significant” loss of troops in Ukraine, although he noted that the “operation” in the neighboring country could end “in the coming days.”
