Two CNI agents arrested for leaking secret information to the US

Two agents of the National Intelligence Center (CNI) have been arrested and are being investigated by a Madrid court for the commission of a crime of revealing secrets related to the leak of information reserved to USA. One of them is in prison.

The opening of the investigation by Justice was advanced this Monday The confidential and it has already been confirmed by the Minister of Defense, Margaret Robles. Other sources have stated that the investigation into this case has resulted, for the moment, in the arrest of two agents from the intelligence center.

Specifically, Robles, during his visit to the Adazi base in Latviahas indicated that the complaint came precisely from the intelligence center to which the agents belong, although they have not offered more details of the case because it is under secrecy, according to Efe.

The agents are being investigated for revealing secrets, although the facts could also constitute an aggravated version of that crime. It’s about the treason by espionage for a foreign powerwhich can be punished by between six and 12 years in prison.
