The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Emigrants Nasser Bourit in Marrakech on Thursday, Anadolu Agency (.) reports.
At the beginning of the conversation, Turkovic thanked the Kingdom of Morocco, which recognized Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday, May 11, 1992, 30 years ago.
She also reminded that the Presidency of BiH made the decision to open an embassy in Morocco, and emphasized that the mutual opening of embassies will be an important step in the future strengthening of overall relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
She also stressed the importance of holding bilateral consultations between the two ministries, strengthening parliamentary cooperation, but also intensifying high-level bilateral visits.
The possibility of economic cooperation in the fields of wood and special-purpose industry, tourism, renewable energy was especially emphasized, and Turković also informed her interlocutor about the advantages of the BiH market.
During the talks, the commitment to complete the procedures for concluding agreements that are in various stages was emphasized, and the BiH Minister especially emphasized the signing of the readmission agreement.
Moroccan Foreign Minister Bourita said that today’s visit, with the announced opening of embassies, was a positive step in improving cooperation between the two countries. He stressed the possibility of visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming months, within which agreements between the two countries could be signed.
The meeting also discussed the situation in North Africa, relations with the EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s efforts to gain EU candidate status.
