Thebes, on the positives: “We are prepared, the COVID did not go away”

The president of LaLiga announces that a “different protocol” will be approved on Tuesday to face the new wave of the pandemic

SALOU (TARRAGONA), Dec. 16 (.) –

LaLiga president Javier Tebas affirmed that the Spanish competition “is prepared” to face the new wave of the COVID-19 pandemic after the positives of Real Madrid and Valencia players, he is confident that there will be no postponements of matches and announced that a “new protocol” to deal with the virus will be approved on Tuesday.

“Whenever there are positives for COVID, you have to be concerned, whether they are players or normal citizens. We are in a different wave from others, we hope that the players recover and affect the competition at least. The protocol was supervised at the time by the CSD Not now, and what we are doing is having meetings and next week, Tuesday, we will approve a different protocol than the previous one, “he said.

At the opening of LaLiga TwentyNine’s and the launch of the video game The Beat Challenge at PortAventura World in Vila-seca (Tarragona), Javier Tebas recalled that LaLiga Santander “is no stranger” to the new wave of coronavirus infections. “We are in a situation in which three games will be suspended in the Premier. We are going to ask for maximum concentration so that it does not affect the competition,” he said.

Likewise, the head of the club employers’ association reordered that the reduction of capacity in the stands is the responsibility of the respective Autonomous Communities. “We cannot enter there. What we do, in the training protocols, the entrances of the teams to the stadiums to avoid contagion … That games can be suspended, obviously,” he said.

In this sense, Tebas stressed that in LaLiga they are “prepared” for the new reality. “The COVID did not go away, here it is, in a different way, but we are looking for solutions for what there is. Hopefully if we have to suspend games they will be the least possible and will not affect the future of the competition,” he stressed.

About the possibility of FC Barcelona incorporating Norwegian striker Erling Haaland next summer, Tebas was forceful. “Haaland to Barça? No. The financial numbers of FC Barcelona are public and LaLiga control, too. Many circumstances would have to be given for them to sign Haaland. Barcelona is in a 1-for-4 rule and Haaland in Raiola’s hands, who does not sell sweets, who sells expensive, … If you ask me, do you see the possibility? No. It is impossible that the salary mass can give him to sign this player, “he sentenced.

On the other hand, he admitted knowing that Barça is negotiating with the CVC venture capital fund, although he does not know the details. “In order to enter the CVC-Liga project, a series of conditions would have to be met. Lawsuits? Unfortunately when Real Madrid is involved we are used to lawsuits. We have already been in for over fifty and today they have announced another that we have won. We will defend ourselves. If I had heeded all the demands since I have been president of LaLiga today, I would not be here today because they are things that Real Madrid does not like, “he said.
