The PP ‘barons’ endorse Feijóo’s leadership, trust his ‘recipes’ and barely mention Casado

Feijóo himself claims to give a voice to the ‘barons’ and Moreno warns: “Never forget that you come from being regional president”

The regional presidents of the PP have shown this Friday at the Seville Congress their support for the figure of Alberto Núñez Feijóo as the future leader of the party at the national level, showing their confidence in their economic ‘recipes’, such as lowering taxes at the moment . In parallel, the majority of ‘barons’ have not mentioned the still president of the party, Pablo Casado, of whom only the leader of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, and his counterpart from Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, have agreed.

In a round table called ‘Prepared’ in this afternoon session of the 20th National Congress of the PP that will open the new stage of Feijóo at the head of the party, the regional presidents, as well as the leader of the Xunta, have intervened to endorse the ‘was Feijóo’, which will open from tomorrow.

Thus, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno; the leader of Ceuta, Juan Vivas; the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras; that of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and the leader of the Executive of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

All of them have coincided in praising the step forward that Alberto Nuñez Feijóo took when presenting himself as the future leader at the national level after four absolute majorities in Galicia and still being president of the Xunta. In addition, they have appealed to “unity” once this appointment in Seville is over so, as they have proclaimed, to be able to boost Feijóo to the Presidency of the Government.

However, the president of the Andalusian PP, host of this extraordinary Congress, has begun his speech by advising Feijóo to “never forget” where he comes from, “being president of an autonomous community.”

Of course, Juanma Moreno has also claimed Feijóo’s action at the head of the Xunta and has thanked him for taking the step to be the next president of the PP at the national level. “Your excellent endorsement of management bodes well for Spain as a whole,” the Andalusian leader told Feijóo.

Before, in the initial intervention of this Congress table, Feijóo has also given a brief speech in which, precisely, he has also remembered the regional presidents, vindicating the action of these territorial ‘barons’.

At this point, the next president of the PP has defended how “good” it is to “give a voice” to the regional presidents of the party. “It is good news that they can speak, as our colleagues have done this morning and the Prime Ministers now,” he stressed.

Likewise, Mañueco, López Miras, Ayuso and Juanma Moreno himself have also given their endorsement to the economic ‘recipes’ that Alberto Nuñez Feijóo is proposing due to the current crisis caused by inflation and the high cost of energy and fuel.

Regarding the “unity” of the party, the Murcian president has even defended on several occasions that “everyone must be counted” in the next stage of the party, “with the experienced and with the young” in order, as he has said, to recover the broad electorate.

For his part, Mañueco has proclaimed that the autonomous communities, city councils and provincial administrations governed by the PP “will be the spearhead of the change that Spain needs.” “And you, you will be the president of the Government very soon”, the president of Castilla y León has maintained in front of Feijóo.

Ayuso, for his part, has defended his policies in the Community of Madrid and has thanked Feijóo for his “generosity”. “We have not met to win a Congress, but to win elections, we trust in Feijóo and the strength that this great project of the Popular Party has,” said the Madrid president.

As was already the case at the table of the regional presidents of the PP who are in opposition, there have been hardly any references from these leaders to the still leader of the PP, Pablo Casado, who will cease to be leader at this Congress in Seville.

They have only been the president of Ceuta, who did have a few words of thanks for Casado, and Mañueco, who briefly thanked his involvement in the elections in Castilla y León, the leaders who have remembered Casado after this internal crisis of the game that has caused this meeting in Seville.
