The governor of Santa Cruz arrested in Bolivia, investigated for the 2019 coup

The Bolivian Prosecutor’s Office has requested six months of preventive detention against Camacho for risk of flight. The Prosecutor’s Office has argued that the governor does not have a “habitual residence” and usually travels frequently to countries such as Brazil, Peru, Panama, the United States, Argentina or Spain, so it is “easy” to leave the country, according to the newspaper. Duty.

The Bolivian opponent, leader of the Creemos platform, this Thursday branded his arrest as “kidnapping” and has ensured that the complaint against him “lacks coherence, credibility and truth.” Likewise, he has specified that he has always been available to the authorities.

After his arrest, there have been protests in Santa Cruz, even reaching roadblocks and airports. Likewise, other representatives of the opposition have demanded their release, warning the Government that they will not “give up” and that they will continue fighting “until the last consequences”.
