MADRID, Sep. 7 (.) –

The Government considers that the Popular Party is “wrapped” again in excuses for not complying with the constitutional mandate to renew the CGPJ “in a timely manner” adding one more “pretext to its delaying maneuvers”, according to sources from the Executive.

The Executive reacts in this way after the affirmation of the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, assuring that he is willing to meet with the president of the Government to address the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) when he calls him and if he complies with the conditions that the PP put.

This was stated this morning by the ‘popular’ leader during an informal conversation with journalists in the Supreme Court, after the opening ceremony of the judicial year in which Lesmes has asked him and Sánchez to renew the governing body of the judges and has threatened decisions that he does not like, in reference to a possible resignation.

However, the Government considers that this response confirms once again that “there are only two attitudes to the Constitution, to comply with it in all its points, as the Government defends, or to interpret it at will and obstruct its compliance, as the Government insists on doing.” PP”.

In addition, the sources of the Executive add that the Government has always had and continues to have the availability to renew the governing body of the judges “under the current law and under the constitutional mandate.” “It can be done today”, they reproach Feijóo.
