The Second Vice President and Minister of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture, Héctor Illueca, accompanied by the Mayor of Sagunt (València), Dario Morenohas announced this Thursday to the families of the pinata that they were going to be evicted that the Ministry has bought an entire building, in total, 76 homes with six parking spaces and commercial premises.
The purchase of the property has been possible thanks to the application of the preferential acquisition right to a price of 9,458,083 euroswhich has meant a total investment of 9,733,402 euros, with savings of 275,319 euros, as highlighted by the Generalitat in a statement.
This is “the biggest test that the Ministry of Housing has made in the legislature”, stressed the regional Secretary of Housing in a brief speech in front of the neighbors in which he was satisfied by “resolving a new case of housing emergency” .
Illueca has shown his “satisfaction” because “only a few weeks ago, these people were going to be left on the street and today the Generalitat formalizes the acquisition of these 76 homes and all families will be able to stay in their homes.
The increase in the public park is “a priority”
Last May, the company that owns the homes announced to the residents that they had to vacate the properties by June 29, as they were going to be sold.
The second vice president has indicated that the increase in the public park is “a priority” for the Ministry due to the “emergency” situation of this municipality, taking into account that Sagunt is classified as an Area of High Housing Need. In this sense, he has highlighted that the preferential acquisition mechanism is “very effective” to alleviate these “emergency” situations.
Elena AzcarragaFor its part, it has indicated that the properties acquired are part of the same building built in 2012. Some homes that from now on are classified as permanently protected, “thus shielding its social function”. All of them will be attached to the Valencian Housing and Land Entity (EVha) for their management on a rental basis.
