The former socialist councilor Carmen Martínez Aguayo enters prison to serve her prison sentence for the ERE

The former Socialist Minister of Finance Carmen Martinez Aguayo has already entered a penitentiary center, to serve the sentence of six years and two days in prison imposed by the Court of Seville for a crime of embezzlement in the financing mechanism of fraudulent employment regulation files (ERE) encouraged by the Junta de Andalucía and arbitrary aid to companies.

martinez aguayo is admitted to a normal module of the prison of Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) accompanied by two inmates. The former counselor voluntarily entered this Seville prison on Wednesday. This Thursday she is calmer after her first contact with the prison, located about 20 kilometers from Seville, where the former counselor resides.

The ex-counselor did not rush the ten-day period that the Seville Court gave to seven former senior officials of the Board convicted of the ERE case, which ends on January 1.

The Alcalá de Guadaíra prison is a center whose use Penitentiary Institutions announced a year ago that it was going to change to turn it into a Penitentiary Psychiatric Hospital, considering that it is an underused space, since it only housed seventy inmates out of the 230 places that the center has.
