The brave little girl from Konjic Han – Arnela Bičakdžić is a candidate for Večernjak’s seal in the “Pride of Bosnia and Herzegovina” category, and she is a girl with a disability who grows up without both parents and, despite all that, is very successful at school and is an example of her successes and optimism and an inspiration to many, reports Anatolia.
Hana lost her mother in her early childhood, she survived a fall from a height of nine meters, a coma, nine operations on her head and today she is 12 years old. Despite the fact that she is permanently disabled, Hana captivates with her smile and will to live and succeed.
Anadolija previously wrote about this lovely girl full of life’s energy, and she says that her teachers and peers are the biggest support in her life, and that she loves school very much.
She learned about the candidacy for the Večernjak seal from her nana, whom she grew up with, and she does not hide her delight and surprise.
“I feel very surprised, happy. Emotions overcame me. I’m overjoyed,” said Hana, who today was among the thousands of elementary school students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina who attended the Children’s Festival organized by the “Yunus Emre” Institute in the Zenica Arena.
She told her peers to fight for what they want in life and not to give up no matter what.
Sehija Hakalović, a teacher at the Čelebići Primary School attended by Hana, said that she knows the young heroine well and that she is proof that every child can be what they want if they have adequate support.
“Hana has the kind of life she has, unfortunately, but I am sure that she can succeed very well if someone made an effort to help her. Of course, we all need help sometimes, but this is especially pronounced when it comes to people who have difficulties. Hana is a great fighter, she is regular at school, hardworking, tidy, but I would be happy if someone could be found to help her. That would be the biggest reward for her,” said Hakalović.
She added that everyone at Čelebići Primary School agrees, and what the doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists have recommended, that Hana needs an assistant to work with her.
