SVI predicts that flu season will extend until April 2024

Patricia Valenzuela, president of the Venezuelan Society of Infectious Diseases (SVI), indicated that the H1N1 flu also circulates in the region, along with influenza B, and reiterated that dengue cases continue to rise.


The president of the Venezuelan Society of Infectious Diseases (SVI), Patricia Valenzuela, assured that the flu season in the country will extend until March-April 2024.

“This is what is expected in these seasons, so we should think about how to prevent the reproduction of the white-legged mosquito, the vector that transmits dengue, and induce vaccination against influenza,” said the specialist during an interview with Union Radio.

He also indicated that the H1N1 flu also circulates in the region, along with influenza B, and reiterated that dengue cases continue to rise.

“Vaccines save lives and prevent complications that can reduce the quality of the Venezuelan,” he pointed out.
