Starlink raises the price of its basic pack “due to inflation”

This has been announced by the company itself in an email sent to its clients and echoed by The Verge, in which it justifies its price increase “for the sole purpose of keeping up with with rising inflation.

Starlink maintains, for the moment, the price of its premium plan unchanged, although it is not available in Spain. Said package consists of a $2,500 antenna and a monthly subscription of $500 per month. According to the company itself, the manufacture of these antennas has a cost of 3,000 dollars, so they are losing money with their sale.

Since its inception, Starlink has launched more than 2,000 satellites into space, and the company’s vice president, Jonathan Hofeller, revealed to CNBC that its user base exceeds 250,000 worldwide.
