The music streaming platform Spotify has presented Spotify Charts, a service that allows you to know the ranking of the most popular songs from 200 cities in the world, as well as your number of views on this platform and the position they have been occupying since their entry into the lists.
In order to access Spotify Charts, users, artists and creators must enter from the Spotify Charts website with the regular user of the platform, as indicated by the company in a statement sent to Europa Press.
Once inside, users can access song lists segmented by cities and genres, as well as by artists, albums and songs most listened to globally and filtered by weeks or days.
The lists by musical genre allow fans of blues, jazz, pop, folk or rock to be aware of which are the most popular songs around the world. As mentioned by Spotify, the 200 best songs of 17 genres are generated and They are classified according to the ‘playlists’ of the users from the platform and the editors’ analysis.
Once inside these lists, it is indicated on the left, next to the position of the song, if they are new songs, if they have climbed or declined in the number of listeners.
Meanwhile, on the right, there is a numbering that indicates the highest rank that song has reached in that list and the total number of consecutive weeks that it has remained in it. Also, Spotify has added the credits of the composers and producers of each song, as well as the date of publication of the albums and singles or the record company to which they belong.
The ‘artist lists’ are updated every friday with the 200 most popular artists or musical groups worldwide, allowing fans to watch their rise or fall in these rankings.
Also, this function can be useful to artists and creators when organizing their tours, as they offer specific information about what is heard in more than 200 specific cities. In the case of Spain, Spotify has made available to users the most popular song lists from Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Malaga, Bilbao and Seville.
The ‘Local Pulse’ charts analyze the popularity of each song among listeners in each city compared to its popularity around the world, to show the distinctive taste of listeners in each territory.
