The PP wonders if the Government will go to Catalonia first to kneel before the independentistas
MADRID, 10 (EUROPE PRESS)
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will appear in plenary session of Congress the week of May 25 to report on the political crisis caused by espionage with the ‘Pegasus’ system that has affected pro-independence politicians and also members of the Executive, including to the chief of staff himself.
It will be a monographic debate, according to the spokesman for the Socialist Group, Héctor Gómez, who has insisted that there will be at least two other plenary sessions with Sánchez before the summer, one for the promised Debate on the State of the Nation and another to report on the consequences of the Government’s decision to bet on the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara.
APPEARANCES DESPITE THE ‘NO’ OF THE PSOE
Both the appearance on espionage and on the Sahara had been forced by the opposition, since the PSOE ruled against it when it was discussed. Both were pending setting a date.
And this Tuesday, after learning of the dismissal of the director of the National Intelligence Center, Paz Esteban, the Government has taken advantage of the Board of Spokespersons to set a date for the summons for espionage with ‘Pegasus’, which will be the week of 24, 25 and 26. The specific date will be decided next week at the Board of Spokespersons, although it is usual for it to be on Wednesday.
The spokeswoman for the Popular Group, Cuca Gamarra, has celebrated that at least the Government has assumed that they should be separate debates, but has regretted that it will take another 15 days until the appearance on espionage is held.
“Are you going to appear before all the Spaniards to give explanations or will you first go down on your knees and ask (Pere) Aragonés for permission and forgiveness?” Gamarra wondered.
NOTHING SURPRISES ANYMORE
In his opinion, “it would be inadmissible” for the Government, before appearing in Congress, to go back to Catalonia to give explanations to the independentists, although after the lightning trip of the Minister of the Presidency, the change of rules to allow ERC, Together, Bildu and the CUP agreed to official secrets, and this Tuesday the dismissal of the director of the CNI, the PP spokeswoman recognizes that they no longer have “capacity for astonishment”.
Once the date of the debate on ‘Pegasus’ has been cleared, the Congress will have to place another appearance by Sánchez on the Sahara and its consequences in the Maghreb, the Debate on the State of the Nation and the informative session of the next European Council in the next five weeks. end of the first semester of the European presidency.
