Sánchez appeals to a “great country agreement” in the face of pressure from the opposition to adopt measures before March 29

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, does not give in to pressure from opposition groups to adopt measures before March 29, the date scheduled for the Council of Ministers to approve the measures to deal with the economic crisis caused by the war. In the control session to the Executive, Sánchez has once again appealed to a “great country agreement” to curb the rise in the prices of gas, electricity and gasoline and, therefore, of the shopping basket.

The PP spokeswoman in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, has urged Sánchez this Wednesday to adopt “already measures” in this regard, accusing the leader of the Executive of “barricading himself” in the European Union on the occasion of the European Council meetings of this Thursday and Friday, where the responses to the consequences of the war due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia will be discussed.

Likewise, he has assured that the Government has led the country to a situation of “collapse” for not “reacting” or taking measures in the face of the energy emergency, whose impact on prices has motivated the employer’s strike of carriers (sponsored by the extreme right), which has weighed down sectors such as livestock, construction or the automobile industry.

“They have been following the same argument for two years, which can be summed up as there is a big problem and a big solution here. The big problem is called Pedro Sánchez and the big solution is Pablo Casado,” the Prime Minister said ironically, adding that now the PP “has gotten rid” of Casado to “replace” him with another solution that is “exactly the same as the previous one.”

Likewise, with the aim of responding to the economic situation, Sánchez has stressed that he is working within the framework of the EU, as well as with parliamentary groups and social agents to approve measures on March 29. In addition, he has been “convinced” to reach an agreement this week with the transport sector.

Similarly, in his responses to the spokesmen for ERC, Gabriel Rufián, and Más País, Íñigo Errejón, the President of the Government has also referred to that great pact of the country to alleviate the crisis, in addition to appealing to the agreements that were adopted in the European framework in this matter, such as decoupling gas from the price of energy.
