Russia prevents entry to almost 300 British MPs in response to Ukraine sanctions

The Russian government has barred entry to a total of 287 members of the UK House of Commons, in response to a similar measure imposed by London in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This was announced on Wednesday by the Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement, in which it stressed that the measure is taken “on the basis of reciprocity.” “Now they cannot enter Russia,” he added, according to the Interfax news agency.

In early March, the British authorities imposed sanctions on almost 400 members of the Russian Duma. The United Kingdom has approved several sanctions packages against Russia in response to the invasion of Ukraine and has provided aid to kyiv, like the rest of the allied countries.
