MADRID, May 7. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Some 11,000 soldiers have participated this Saturday in Moscow in the dress rehearsal of the parade that will take place on Monday on the occasion of Victory Day, which this year is marked by the military offensive launched by Russia on Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense has also reported the participation of dozens of planes and helicopters, part of which have flown over the sky of the Russian capital displaying the colors of the Russian flag, according to official news agencies.
Russia commemorates the Soviet victory over the Nazis every May 9 with a grand parade in the presence of leading authorities, including President Vladimir Putin. On this occasion, foreign intelligence services have speculated that Moscow may make this date coincide with some kind of milestone regarding Ukraine.
The Kremlin has ruled out that Putin will formally declare war on Monday — he currently defines the offensive in Ukraine as a “special operation” — which would allow him to recruit reservists to join the deployment in the neighboring country.
