The president of the National Assembly (AN) of 2020 repeated the speech against the opposition primary elections of October 22 before diplomatic representatives from different countries. As he did in previous speeches, he questioned the financing of the process and asserted that the National Primary Commission, chaired by Jesús María Casal, inflated the participation numbers.
Rodríguez insisted that the opposition refused to receive technical and logistical support from the National Electoral Council because “the fraud was already set up.” He asserted that the Primary Commission burned the voting notebooks “because they know that there is an electoral crime.”
He asserted that the primaries were not a process to choose a candidate. «Soon the truth of what happened will come out and it will really be known how many people there were. “The government guaranteed the peace of the Republic.”
