Real Madrid begins as it ended

MADRID, Aug. 10 (.) –

Real Madrid repeated the script of the last months of last season to continue with the victorious line at the start of the 2022-23 academic year, thanks to a win without discussion against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-0) that has resulted in the fifth European Super Cup in the history of the meringues, increasingly used to continuing to add conquests to their showcases.

Life goes on the same for Carlo Ancelotti’s pupils. More in a hurry at the start this Wednesday, they made use of Thibaut Courtois and -already more comfortable and accurate as the minutes went by- they found Benzema’s aim, before even Alaba’s with a shot at will. The night was soon painted white and he did it with the same formula that served to extend his dominance in Europe last May.

To make matters worse, with more grounds and automatisms to go out with the ball played, to play with your back and not commit to creation. Perfection was very close in several phases of the meeting and that is only about the month of August. He gave the feeling that the product is not that it can be exhausted, it is that every day it has more validity as the results show.

Japan’s Daichi Kamada could have changed history after a quarter of an hour with a very clear shot that Courtois saved. The first that the Germans forgave, sunk after being thrashed by Bayern last Saturday (0-6) and without their great star Kostic, in the process of leaving the club. It was not the best context for an Eintracht that -in any case- sought the leading role that did not correspond to it because of who its rival was.

Vinicius began to carburete and Tutta, almost under the sticks, avoided the first of the whites. Minutes later – on the verge of half an hour – he almost got it with a shot from outside the box. A shoe that Trapp sent to a corner. On that play it was 1-0 thanks to Benzema’s persistence. The Frenchman was suspended in the air and beat two opponents with his jump.

The ball was extended to Casemiro, almost on the baseline, and he in turn handed it to Alaba so that he could score at will. A goal that could have been the origin of the second if Benzema himself had not forgiven with a shot from the front five minutes before the break. The scoreboard reflected 1-0 but Madrid dominated without playing one hundred percent.

That was the great triumph of Ancelotti’s team, who came out to bite in the second act with several actions that intimidated their rival. Those of Oliver Glasner took a step back and forgot -or could not- set foot on the rival field so often. Vinicius squeezed them twice, with Modric starring, and Casemiro crashed the leather into the crossbar.

Before the oven was ready for buns, specifically for the second for the whites in a combination between the two best partners in current football. Vinicius, the best young player in the last Champions League, and Benzema -the best player- resolved the final with a play that made it 2-0 to put the finishing touch to the title.

In the final minutes, Ancelotti took the opportunity to officially ‘introduce’ the new ones: Tchouaméni and Rudiger, as well as to give Ceballos affection. A victory that sweetens the start and that ventures a great season for the current champion of almost everything. The assault on the new course has started as Madrid’s dreams dictated.
