The shooting of a high-budget feature action film has started at Štrbački Buk near Bihać, in the heart of the Una National Park, reports Anadolu Agency (.).
“It will be an action movie, rafting on Rijeka, here we are making scenes that happen on Rijeka. For now, we are here with cascade, and later in July the main actors are coming and we are making the end of the movie. We sought wild nature. We went through the whole of Europe, they brought us here and we fell in love. The director liked it so much that instead of three we were going to shoot here for nine days and bring in the lead actors, “says Anne-Marie Roberge, co-producer and filming supervisor.
Producer Daniel Kresmery agrees, saying that Bosnia and Herzegovina has undiscovered natural beauties.
“We are here because they are beautiful waterfalls. The first time we were in February, then in April and now we have the first shooting. The nature is beautiful, the waterfall is more beautiful than we could have imagined,” says Kresmery.
The premiere of the film is planned for next spring. The producers do not want to reveal details, but unofficially, the final scenes of the film “River Wild 2” are being shot at Štrbački Buk, and the main actors should be Adrien Brody, Leighton Meester and Taran Killam.
“By far the most beautiful river and we found these waterfalls that I don’t think are anywhere in the world and we were looking for untouched nature, because when the actors get into trouble you have to see that there is no way out and they have to save themselves from the water,” explains Ognjen Gavanski.
So far, numerous European television and film productions have already filmed here, but this is certainly a moment that could be an additional wind in the back for the development of the Una National Park.
We have already hosted BBC, TV Art and many other televisions that were interested in filming and our tourism potentials and results are becoming recognized and the chances for their promotion in the film industry are opening up. And this promotion is important for Bihać and USK and Bosnia and Herzegovina “, says Amarildo Mulić, director of the Una National Park.
Una National Park is the backbone of the tourist and economic development of Una-Sana Canton, and last year it had 102,000 registered visitors.
