Price of Super gasoline rose more than 15 cents in Ecuador

Through an official statement, the Petroecuador Public Company announced that the price of super gasoline rose more than 15 cents this Monday, February 12, 2024.

The Super 95, whose price had been set last month at US$3.56 per gallon, will rise to USD 3.75.

“From 00:00 this Monday, February 12, 2024, the new reference public sale price suggested by the marketer at the automotive system’s own and affiliated service stations will govern for Super Premium 95 gasoline at USD 3.75 per gallon”, Petroecuador announced in the statement from its official X account (formerly Twitter).

This is in compliance with the Regulation for the Regulation of Prices Derived from Petroleum. According to the Public Company, the calculation of this value was carried out based on the prices of oil and its derivatives in the international market.

“Aspects that are external and do not depend directly on the country or the public company”added Petroecuador.

Finally he explained:

“It is important to reiterate that Extra and Ecopaís gasolines have a frozen retail price of USD 2.40 per gallon, as well as Diesel at USD 1.75 per Gallon, for the automotive segment; in compliance with the Regulation of Prices Derived from Petroleum”.
