Podemos asks Judge García Castellón to incorporate the audios of Villarejo with Cospedal and Ferreras into the ‘Kitchen case’

Can has registered this Wednesday a writing in the National audience in which he requests the judge instructing the ‘Kitchen case’, Manuel Garcia Castellonthe “immediate incorporation” to the cause of the recently published conversations between the former commissioner Jose Manuel Villarejo and the former general secretary of the Popular Party, María Dolores de Cospedal, as well as between Villarejo and the journalist Antonio García Ferreras, according to what has been learned Public.

In its brief, to which this newspaper has had access, the purple formation demands that the judge clarify why this material has not been incorporated into the summary despite the “obvious relevance to the object of the investigation” and to explain if there are more recordings of equal relevance that are in the possession of the police support unit for Central Court of Instruction 6.

The ‘Kitchen case’, encompassed in the ‘Villarejo case’ or ‘Tándem’ macro-cause, deals with the espionage to the ex-treasurer of the Popular Party Luis Barcenas and his family by the police leadership between 2013 and 2015 charged to the funds reserved to seize documentation on box b of the PP. The investigation of the case has already concluded and on April 20 the Criminal Chamber of the National Court endorsed the decision of Judge García Castellón to propose that the former leadership of the Ministry of the Interior be tried, with the former minister Jorge Fernández Díaz to head.

Podemos maintains that this situation is “very serious” as Judge García Castellón withdrew the accusation against Cospedal despite the existence of audios where it is heard how the former leader of the PP and Villarejo conspired in the former’s office. These audios show that his relationship with the commissioner went beyond mere courtesy visits by the police, as Cospedal maintained.

In fact, García Castellón argued to withdraw the accusation against María Dolores de Cospedal that “her conduct could not circumstantially be included in any criminal offense as it was protected by the right of assembly“.

Podemos denounces that in several of the conversations that have been published, “Villarejo allegedly informed the then Minister of Defense of alleged investigations carried out by certain police officers, outside of any legal controlconsisting of fabricating false reports and evidence with which “we seek the ruin” of the Podemos political party and several of its leaders”.

“That from the content of said audios they are deduced with total clarity practices
repeated and systematic
of police bodies dependent on the
Ministry of the Interior for ‘manufacturing’ false information against Podemos and its leaders, for subsequent disclosure in certain media. Extremely serious events that undoubtedly have an obvious connection to this case,” the letter states.

Conversations between Ferreras and Villarejo

Those false information They were later delivered “from those same police instances to certain digital media, all with the undisguised objective of discrediting political rivals in a context of electoral contest,” the letter states.

In Podemos’s request to the court, it alludes to the latest published audios related to the journalist Antonio García Ferreras, in which it can be heard that the host of the ‘Al Rojo Vivo’ space dispatches with Villarejo about fabricated information to harm the then leader of we can, paul churches. “That in said conversations it is also alluded to that this false information, “badly assembled”, all “too crude”is then supplied from
those same police instances to certain digital media [por ‘Okdiario’]”.

Podemos describes as “revealing” both Villarejo’s conversation with the former head of the UDEF, Commissioner José Luis Olivera, who affirms that “it is not very expensive to give Pablo Iglesias an account from 5 years ago and then have them explain”, as well as also those that he kept and recorded with “communication professionals such as Mauricio Casals either Anthony Garcia Ferreraswhich expressly acknowledges in said recordings that the information that was broadcast from its means of communication was false”.

Podemos asks Judge García Castellón to identify “the exact location and support in which said audios can be found among the material seized in this case, in order to proceed, if it has not already been done, to its immediate decryption and incorporation and putting available to all parties.
