POCO F4 GT, the best of the ‘gaming’ series, with finishes worthy of high-end

MADRID, 30 Apr. (EDITIONS/Portaltic) –

Just a few days ago we came into contact with the new POCO F4 GT, a ‘smartphone focused on ‘gaming’, which included an aesthetic novelty based on magnetic tabs or configurable triggers.

This was one of the elements that stood out the most in the virtual presentation of the product, which in addition to being recommended for video game players, is also recommended for the general public, since offers advanced technical specifications to be a mid-range phone.

At Portaltic we have had the opportunity to test it and one of the aspects that we have noticed with greatest interest is the lightness with which its screen works, which presents slightly thicker bezels than would be expected.

The user can notice this speed since turning on the panel itself, since the on and off button, which acts as a fingerprint recognition sensor, is precise and fast. Just slightly approaching the fingertip is enough for the device to start working.

Once we can test your screen 6.7-inch AMOLED DotDisplaywe can access a text document and check its agility thanks to its refresh rate, which reaches 120 Hz. However, it is during the game where the improvements of this device are most appreciated.

To check it, we downloaded the title Lara Croft: Relic Run, an action game in which the main character must enter different scenarios where obstacles abound.

Because it offers a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz, the device is able to recognize every movement without pressing too hard on the screen or sliding your finger pressing hard.

These triggers can also be set so that Lara Coroft can engage enemy creatures during the different levels, so that the phone can be turned into a portable console user-friendly and personalized.

In addition, thanks to the fact that it has the CyberEngine linear motor, the mobile offers different vibration ranges depending on the intensity of the game, although this is more present in other titles such as League Of Legends (LOL) and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).

DOUBTFUL COOLING SYSTEM

Interestingly, POCO repeatedly insisted that thanks to its built-in LiquidCool 3.0 cooling system, gamers could play for hours on end. without noticing overheating. However, after a while you can notice some heat that contradicts it.

Despite this, there are two details that can convince users who are looking for a more ‘gaming’ approach to the device. On the one hand, the USB-C type charging cable, which it is L-shaped and offers greater comfort to continue using the mobile in landscape format while charging.

In this sense, it is clear that the Asian brand has thought about the real experience of gamers with the design of this charger, although it is important to remember that the battery, double cell and 4,700 mAh, it lasts quite a long time.

However, in the event that we reach low percentages of charge, you can choose to fully charge it in just a few minutes (it goes from 0 to 100 percent in just 17 minutes) or don’t stop playing while the USB-C cable is connected to a power source.

On the other, which may be the trigger for these ‘gamers’ to bet on the POCO F4 GT, is the layout of the speakers, manufactured by JBL and with certification Dolby Atmos.

So that you do not lose that feeling of immersive experience during the game, these are placed on both sides, in the upper and lower right. In this way, it is impossible to cover them during the game, when the mobile is placed horizontally and neither during use with one hand, since the upper speaker is completely clear.

If we go to the back of the device, we find an interesting minimalist format that makes it very recognizable and provides that degree of distinction that many want when they buy a mobile phone.

A NICE DESIGN AND AN ACCEPTABLE CAMERA

While the previous ‘gaming’ focused model, POCO F3 GT, featured rounder and less defined lines (both on the cover and on the camera frame), in the new POCO F4 GT straight lines abound.

These, more elegant, are distributed throughout the device, with a main thick line that divides it into two equal parts. On both sides, other drawings are distributed that stand out to the touch and give it greater consistency.

The back has a glass finish and aluminum bezels, giving it a higher quality look but also making it heavier and has a good grip thanks to its straight and somewhat rounded edges in their corners.

These lines are also introduced in the frame of the camera, elongated and in which its three lenses are arranged in a straight line. Its main lens is 64 megapixels (MP) and integrates a sensor of IMX 686with which the brand takes a leap in quality compared to the previous model.

This is complemented by an 8MP wide angle and a 2MP macro camera. Conversely, the selfie camera It has a resolution higher than that of competing mobile phones in the mid-range, since it is 20 MP. For this reason, the images are sharper and pick up more detail.

However, portrait mode does not have HDR neither manual nor automaticso that the ‘selfies’ as such are not very defined and present problems of overexposure.

In any case, it is not a phone expressly intended for those who are more interested in the photographic section, since it offers a level that is too standard for its price, of €699 in its most advanced configuration (12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage) and €599.99 (8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory).

Regarding the photography modes that the camera integrates, the slow motion option stands out, dual Video, long exposure and film effects, as well as a clone button.

For video, on the other hand, the phone allows choose different resolutions: 720p at 30 FPS, 1080p at 30 FPS, 1080p at 60 FPS, 4K at 30 FPS and 4K at 60 FPS. In addition, it has a shortcut for the macro lens and allows you to place the film frame.

The mobile also integrates an alert system that indicates to the user that either the camera or the microphone or both are being used together, since every time it is opened a green point lights up in the upper left part that indicates it. notifies.

All in all, POCO F4 GT is a very interesting phone, elegant, with finishes worthy of high-end and very functionalsince those who are less interested in its ‘gaming’ approach can use other of its outstanding features to their advantage.

That is, just as magnetic tabs can be configured to play games, they can be used as shortcuts to other phone servicessuch as the flashlight, the camera, record video or silent mode.

In addition, if you want to use the mobile in horizontal format, to watch a video, the placement of its speakers is very pleasant for listen clearly what is being seen.

However, those users looking for functionality and a moderate price will not find this phone to be their best option, since those who you are interested in a good photograph and a long battery life can access other devices more focused on these features than the POCO F4 GT.
