Nintendo has announced that some titles for the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance (GBA) consoles are now also available on the online video game service for its most recent platform, Nintendo Switch.
The Japanese company has announced the support of these titles within the framework of Nintendo Direct, the event in which he usually announces the news about his ‘hardware’ and the new installments of its franchises.
Nintendo has noted that owners of Nintendo Switch consoles can already access a number of video games from the original handheld console through its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.
This platform allows subscribers to play titles compatible with the team online, access a catalog of classic NES and Super NES titles, as well as Store save data in the cloud.
The titles of game boy Coming to Switch are Super Mario Land 2, Gargoyle’s Quest, Tetris, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Kirby’s Dream Land, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare and Wario Land 3.
Players will also be able to play The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Wario Ware, Inc., Kuru Kuru Kururin, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Mario Kart. Super Circuit; Game Boy Advance.
Nintendo has specified that titles from the original handheld system (Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Pocket) will be available in standard mode on Nintendo Switch Online, while Game Boy Advance titles will be exclusive to the Expansion Pack.
This other subscription offers access to all the benefits of a normal subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, as well as classic video games from Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance and SEGA Mega Driveas well as downloadable expansions for a selection of games on the console.
