The New Zealand authorities have reopened their borders this Monday to tourists who have been vaccinated or who present a negative test for coronavirus, as long as they come from countries with a visa exemption, among which is Spain.
New Zealand Tourism Minister Stuart Nash has indicated that thousands of passengers are expected to arrive at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch airports during the new phase of the reopening plan in the country, one of those that imposed stricter measures to contain the pandemic.
“Today is a milestone for visitors from other key markets in the northern hemisphere such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and others, who can get on a plane to come,” he stressed. , according to the newspaper ‘The New Zealand Herald’.
The New Zealand government, which launched its reopening plan in February, has confirmed this Monday 6,726 cases of coronavirus, with a total of 943,428 infections and 713 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
