MADRID, May 9. (Portaltic/EP) –
The open source email service developed by Mozilla, mozilla thunderbird, currently available for Windows, Linux and macOS, it will soon be coming to Android mobile devices.
While it’s true that Mozilla Firefox has been available for iOS and Android for several years now, so far the company hasn’t introduced Thunderbird beyond desktops and laptops.
Now, the company has confirmed via Twitter what is working on an Android mobile app and that it will share “more details” with its users “in the coming weeks.”
This announcement has been signed by the Thunderbird Product Manager, Ryan Lee, who has ensured that the version of Mozilla Thunderbird for mobile will arrive “very soon”, although it is now number two on his list of priorities.
May take a while to get all the syncing stuff squared. But this is my #2 priority, my #1 is fixing Thunderbird’s UI/UX.

The company is focusing its efforts on improving the interface and visibility of the email service. However, Lee has clarified that the work to bring Thunderbird to Android devices also is of great importance to the company.
“Priority #2 is very, very high and means that receives a lot of attention and resources“, Lee has pointed out in this Twitter thread, without giving more details about the future application.
