BILBAO, Jan. 21 (.) –

The Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, has stated that Spain is “the country of no to war” and has opted for “dialogue and diplomacy” in Ukraine.

Montero met this Friday in Bilbao with the Minister of Equality, Justice and Social Policies of the Basque Government, Beatriz Artolazabal, where, when asked by journalists, he referred to the situation in Ukraine and the offer made by the Ministry of Defense to send Spanish troops to the area.

In this sense, the Podemos minister has affirmed that Spain is, “categorically, the country of no to war” and has maintained that “Basque, Catalan and Spanish society” is “people of peace”.

“We are committed to peace, the de-escalation of the conflict, to avoid military maneuvers in the area, dialogue and diplomacy,” he stated.
