MADRID, July 19 (Portaltic/EP) –
Goal has announced the launch of the native WhatsApp application for devices with the Wear OS operating system, that is, Google’s operating system for smart watches.
Wear OS is a version of the Android operating system designed for ‘wearables’ that allows you to download some redesigned and optimized Google Play applications for these types of devices.
Until now, WhatsApp had a version adapted for smart watches, but with certain limitations when using it. In this way, users could make use of some of its functionshow to access the platform’s chats.
However, the technology company has been developing the native version of this application for Wear OS, which indicates that users will be able to access all the application features that are already available, for example, in the WhatsApp Web version.
This was verified a few months ago by WABetaInfo, which indicated that the application would issue a notification when users try to link Wear OS with a WhatsApp account. that connection would maintain end-to-end encryption, which ensures that only the participants in a chat can read or listen to what is being sent.
Then, this portal also pointed out that to link the watch application to the WhatsApp account, the terminal would request an eight-digit code that will be displayed on the ‘wearable’. Once it is entered and the data is verified by the application, it would be synchronized on both devices.
Now, the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has used his channel on Instagram, where he usually informs about the news of its platforms, to confirm that WhatsApp can now be used “from the wrist” thanks to the version of the ‘app’ for Wear OS.
Thanks to this native application for ‘smartwatches’, users will be able to use the messaging platform without having to carry their mobile phone and will be able to reply to their friends or family with text, voice, emoji or quick responses.
