Messenger incorporates a tab dedicated to calls on the home page

MADRID, June 2 (Portaltic/EP) –

The messaging app Messenger has released a new design with which it incorporates a tab dedicated to calls, which adds to the others already present and offers an interface similar to the one presented by WhatsApp.

Meta Messenger allows you to make free calls and video calls with your contacts. Until now, you could access this feature from within a chat thread with a specific friend or family member.

The app’s redesign makes it easier to make a call, with a tab dedicated to this feature on the home screen. Thus, the Messenger interface already has four: Chats, Calls, Contacts and Stories.

With this design, which will gradually reach users, the messaging application is similar to the interface design of another company app, WhatsApp, which also has a tab dedicated to calls.

From Meta they have explained that the redesign responds to the rapid growth of calls and video calls through a chat, as collected in Digital Trends. According to their data, there are 40 percent more calls per day than at the beginning of 2020, and daily, globally, users make more than 300 million calls of both types.
