Meloni regrets the death of Benedict XVI, “a great in history whom history will not forget”

MADRID, Dec. 31 (.) –

The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has lamented the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, “a giant of faith and reason”, “a great in history whom history will not forget” even as the years go by.

“He put his life at the service of the universal Church and has spoken, and will continue to speak, to the hearts and minds of men with the spiritual, cultural and intellectual depth of his Magisterium,” he emphasized on Twitter.

Meloni, who conveyed his condolences and that of all of Italy to Pope Francis, stressed that Joseph Ratzinger was “a man in love with the Lord”; “a Christian, a pastor, a theologian.”
