Media “pedagogy” of popular impoverishment

This week we have listened to Joseph Borrell telling the Europeans that “no alternative”that there is no other option than an increase in the price of life, of energy, of food and a massive impoverishment of the population in Europeas a result of the decisions that he himself is taking, among others, Borrell himself (who stopped doing his job as Head of European Diplomacy a long time ago to become a war propagandist).

But that discourse of persuasion so that the population accepts without question the consequences of the situation to which these people are leading us with their decisions would not work if it did not have repeaters who spread it from the main media. Today I am going to focus in this section, if you like, on an example of that media discourse of open justification of the popular suffering that they have reserved for us as something inevitable that people must get used to (“it is what it is”).

Governments do not have to make an effort to stop a war that is a ruin for Europe, they do not have to put the effort into solving economic and energy problems; They have to put the effort, mind you, into pedagogy so that people accept that this is what it is. Not trying to avoid all these consequences from politics, but convincing ourselves that they are inevitable. It is not “pedagogy”, it is propaganda.

It is also significant that Stephanie Molina talk about the fact that the European and Spanish population must be prepared to “resist the war” and pay for it with your standard of living. But I ask: are we at war? Is Spain at war? Or is she suffering the social and economic consequences of a war? Because if it is the latter, then the priority should be precisely to protect the living conditions of the population from the impact of that war.

But the mental framework that Estefanía Molina places there as someone who does not want the thing is that Spain is at war, as a belligerent party in this conflict, and also naturalizes it by saying that this “war regime”as he always calls it Raul Sanchez Cedilloit is “What there is”. When in any case, if that is so, it is because some, making the same speech that she makes in the BE, they have put us in this warmongering escalation and in that war regime; but that was not and is not, far from it, the only possible way of facing the war in Europe from Europe. Ukraine.

Estefanía Molina is very surprised, and outraged, that people are protesting the impoverishment to which the European leaders who have led us to a war regime are leading them.
