María Corina Machado: The response to the disqualification was resolved by the people on #22Oct

Despite Machado’s speech and his ironclad stance regarding his presidential candidacy, the barrier to his registration for the presidential elections before the National Electoral Council (CNE) remains due to his political disqualification.

The presidential candidate elected by the opposition, María Corina Machado, stated this Friday, November 24, that the dilemma regarding the political disqualification that weighs against her was resolved on October 22, when she overwhelmingly won the opposition primaries.

In a speech to her supporters in the La Isabelica municipality, in Valencia, the political leader emphasized that the president must be chosen by the population, relying on the more than 2.2 million votes she obtained in the primaries.

«This does not stop anyone, the response to the disqualification was resolved by the people on October 22; So who chooses the next president? People. This is called citizen strength and every day we are taking one step closer to having a free country,” he highlighted, according to a press release from Vente Venezuela.

The leader of Vente Venezuela referred to a national alliance that is being built with the participation of all sectors of the country, in order to achieve a change of Government, following the discursive line that the opposition maintained throughout the year of promoting unity. .

«Now comes the great fight, what we did on October 22 prepared us for what is coming. We are going to win and we are going to collect, we are going to liberate Venezuela. “We are going to unite in this Great National Alliance and bring hope and strength to every corner of the country,” he added.

He also emphasized, once again, the need to work for the establishment of solid institutions in a process of change that, he affirms, is “irreversible.”

“We are going to get rid of socialism forever in Venezuela because we believe in a liberal Venezuela, with solid institutions and opportunities for all our children,” he stressed.

Despite Machado’s speech and his ironclad stance regarding his presidential candidacy, the barrier to his registration for the presidential elections before the National Electoral Council (CNE) remains due to his political disqualification.

In recent interviews he has indicated that he is working on a strategy to unblock this limitation, while the United States demands the withdrawal of disqualifications from all opposition leaders as a condition to maintain the flexibility of sanctions.

Although the licenses granted by the United States Department of the Treasury to the Venezuelan oil industry are valid for six months and would expire in April, US officials clarified that the deadline to see progress by Chavismo in terms of the release of political prisoners and authorization of political leaders is on November 30.

Until November 24, a week before the United States deadline expires, the only tangible progress that Chavismo has made in this regard has been the release of six of the more than 270 political prisoners registered by the NGO Foro. Penal.
