Macron asks Armenia and Azerbaijan to “strictly” adhere to the ceasefire

MADRID, Sep. 13 (.) –

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has asked the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan on Tuesday to adhere “strictly” to the ceasefire announced by Russia throughout the day after the latest clashes between the parties in the area border.

Macron, who has urged respect for the “territorial integrity” of Armenia, has indicated that he will take the case before the United Nations Security Council, which he is currently presiding over.

Likewise, he has said that he is prepared to offer support to both parties in an attempt to achieve a resolution of the conflict “only through negotiations”, as indicated by the French Presidency in a statement.

The French president has promised to offer his support with the help of international partners and interested parties.
