Lucas Ocampos returns to Seville

MADRID, Jan. 17 (.) –

Sevilla confirmed on Tuesday the return of Argentine striker Lucas Ocampos after reaching an agreement with the Dutch Ajax to end his loan in the Eredivisie team where he had barely participated.

“Sevilla FC and AFC Ajax have reached an agreement to end the loan of Lucas Ocampos to the Dutch team. In this way, the Argentine international returns to the Nervionense team to face this second part of the season after playing six games -four from the Eredivisie and two from the Champions League- at Ajax”, indicated the Sevilla team.

Ocampos joined the Seville team in the summer of 2019, with whom he had a contract until 2025 and in which he had been a key player, especially in winning the 2020 Europa League. However, despite playing the first three games of LaLiga Santander 2022-2023, was transferred to Ajax with a purchase option. In his first stage at Sevilla, he signed 135 games and 34 goals.

“Hello Sevilla fans, I’m very happy to be with you again and to wear this shirt. It’s a difficult moment, but I know that both my teammates and I are going to do everything to reverse this situation. I’ll wait for you in the next game and hopefully things change as soon as possible,” Ocampos said in a video on the Sevilla website.
