LaLiga requests “immediate sanctions” against Juventus for breaching financial fair play

MADRID, Nov. 29 (.) –

LaLiga has requested this Tuesday that “immediate sanctions” be applied against Juventus in Turin, after the resignation of the Italian club’s Board of Directors, led by the resignation of the president, Andrea Agnelli, for breach of UEFA’s financial fair play.

LaLiga recalled that it already filed an official complaint against Juventus with UEFA in April 2022, in which it reported violations, according to the club employers, of the financial ‘fair play’ regulations that the Italian Guardia di Finanza was investigating. .

Specifically, the complaint accused Juventus of accounting for transfers “above their fair value” and underestimating employee expenses, which is a breach, LaLiga stresses, of UEFA’s financial fair play. In addition, the complaint accused Juventus of hiding the true salary bill of its players.

This Monday, in the same note issued from the Juventus Board of Directors, its representatives acknowledge, in the opinion of LaLiga, “very serious financial accounting irregularities, which are also intended to deceive the competent UEFA financial fair play authorities”. .

“LaLiga, with the aim of promoting financially sustainable football in Europe, maintains these complaints against Juventus and requests that the competent authorities apply immediate sporting sanctions to the club,” he said in a statement.

In this sense, LaLiga indicated that in April of this year it filed complaints for breach of financial fair play before UEFA against Juventus, but also against Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain.

“The Spanish competition itself has applied its ‘economic control’ rules for almost a decade, at the request of the clubs that make up LaLiga. Financial sustainability is essential to protect the football business. Let’s protect our football,” he concluded.
