All regions of Ukraine alerts have been activated new russian attacks which have resulted in offensives on strategic points such as the capital, kyiv, where at least one person has lost their lives.
In some areas, such as kyiv or Mikolaiv, local authorities have confirmed the launch of missiles by the Russian Armed Forces and the activation of defense systems, according to the agency. UNIAN.
The mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko, has reported several explosions in the city on Telegram and has recommended that the population remain in shelters. Among the areas reached there would be areas with residential buildings. According to Klitschko, at least one person has died in the Solomian neighborhood, where several injuries have also been reported. In total, the authorities have estimated the wounded at twenty, fourteen of whom have been hospitalized.
The authorities have also proceeded to preventative cuts in the electricity supply in various parts, including Odesa or Kharkiv, given that this infrastructure has been a priority objective for Russian forces in recent months.
In the case of kyiv, the mayor has explained that 30% of homes and businesses are without electricity for emergency stops.
Government criticism
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dimitro Kuleba, has accused Russia of “deliberately” attacking residential areas. “War criminal (Vladimir) Putin” celebrates “the New Year by killing people,” he lamented on Twitter.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy has once again called for the expulsion of Russia from UN Security Councilwhere he considers that he occupies a position “illegally”.
