Kosovo records its first nine cases of the omicron variant

The Kosovo Ministry of Health has registered this Sunday the first nine cases of the omicron variant of the coronavirus in the Balkan country.

“The omicron variant is expected to worsen the epidemiological situation in the country,” the Ministry of Health has warned.

Of the 22 new cases that have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days, nine have been identified as of the omicron variant.

The Ministry has detailed that of these nine cases, two people come from the United Kingdom, two from the United States, one from France and four cases are of Kosovar origin.
