Riding in Mountains: These days the craze of traveling by bike is increasing among people. People also prefer to travel long distances by bike. From off-roading to mountain climbing, people usually don’t get down from the bike. This is the reason that now many types of bikes have come in the market which are specially prepared for difficult roads. However, many people do not know what are the things that need to be kept in mind while riding a bike on mountains.

keep your lane

If you ride a bike on the mountain then you must have noticed that there is no divider or marking to cross the road. In such a situation, it is very important to keep in mind that you are not driving the bike in the corner.

ride in low gear

When climbing a hill, always ride in high-rpm and lower gear. Find the spot where the engine makes maximum power while trying to keep the RPM just below that when climbing hills. While climbing a mountain, the motorcycle has to over-afford, keeping it in the wrong gear can cause the bike to bump and stop.

never drop down to neutral

The use of engine braking is one of the most important aspects of hill riding. By being in neutral, you lose control of engine braking, which can cause you to lose control of the vehicle. Also, excessive brake use when descending a slope can cause the brakes to overheat, rendering them ineffective for a period of time.

right brake

When climbing a hill, use the rear brake of the motorcycle more than the front brake. While going downhill, use the front brake more than the rear brake. The reason behind this is weight. While going uphill, most of the load will be on the rear tyre, more front brake application will easily lock the front wheel. When the motorcycle is on a slope, the brake on the front wheel needs to be applied more than the brake on the rear.
