Justice gives Griñán ten days to voluntarily enter prison

The First Section of the Seville Court has ordered the former president of the Junta de Andalucía Jose Antonio Grinan and another seven of the nine sentenced to prison for the ERE case that they appear within ten days for their voluntary admission to prison, without waiting for the Government to rule on their request for pardon.

The First Section of the Provincial Court of Seville has issued an order in which it denies the suspension of the custodial sentences while the pardon of eight of the nine sentenced to prison for the so-called ERE case is processed, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA).

On the contrary, the Court has agreed to suspend the execution of the three-year custodial sentence imposed on the former Director General of Labor of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Márquez, while his request for pardon is being processed.

Thus, the First Section of the Court denies suspending the prison sentences that weigh on Griñánthe former Minister of Finance Carmen Martinez Aguayothe former Minister of Innovation Francis Vallejothe former Minister of Employment and Technological Development Jose Antonio Vieraalso a former Employment Minister Anthony Fernandezthe former director of the IDEA agency Miguel Angel Serranothe former Vice Minister of Innovation Jesus Maria Rodriguez Roman and the former vice-counselor of Employment Agustin Barberá.
