The president of the Popular municipal group in the Barcelona City Council, Joseph Bou, has denounced that his private car was burned this morning. The vehicle has been completely damaged. The first hypotheses of the Urban Guard indicate that it could be due to a mechanical failure.
The local representative went to the Horta district to participate in an event with members who had set up a tent. There he parked the car. Later they called him to inform him that his car was engulfed in flames, which has caused the intervention of the firemen and the Urban Guard.
“They just burned my car in Barcelona. I will wait for the police report, but I do announce that nothing will stop me from fulfilling my duty and my work”, the councilor has stated on his Twitter account. The tweet was accompanied by images of the vehicle, a Mercedes, which has been burned.
From the PP they have ensured that, for the time being, they don’t know anything else and that from the photos they have seen of how the vehicle has turned out, it seems “complicated” that the car caught fire due to a mechanical errorbut that they will not do anything until they have the police report that determines how it has caught fire.
That is why Bou, who has continued with his scheduled agenda for this Sunday, will wait for know the causes of the accident before deciding whether or not to report the facts to justice. The fire occurred in the same week in which the party has noted an “upturn” in the threats received by the councilor on social networks, as Bou himself has denounced.
